Production

Currently in Development
IndyMuse Digital Features is proud to announce the finalization of funding for Hostile. Loosely based on true events, Hostile is a raw tale of mutiny at a successful Internet start-up company.

Filming in the summer of 2006 on location in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

A unique story about the death of the dot.com era. About an immigrant who built a multi-millionaire dollar Internet company, and the childhood friend turned business partner who almost stole it away.

Betrayal and backstabbing at the height of the dot.com boom. Childhood envy driving boardroom rebellions. Two friends split apart by greed and jealousy.

In the vein of Boiler Room and Shattered Glass, Hostile is a personal and brutally honest drama. Ideally suited for video, this timely and cutting tale will be captured in High Definition.

The Film Production Process according to IndyMuse
The film production process is long and complicated involving dozens of skilled professionals and thousands of decisions. The following section presents IndyMuse’s brief summary of this amazing process.

Project Assessment and Green-lighting
Each project that IndyMuse finances and produces will go through a rigorous assessment before financing and production. Only the best projects will advance through to the green light. Following standard studio protocol, only solicited or packaged projects will be considered. The process begins before the project reaches indy One of our consultant Producers reads the screenplay and assesses the package being presented to the company.

If the project shows promise, the company’s Development Director then ensures a full reader report is compiled giving feedback on the structure, content and potential commercial viability of the script.

If the project still shows promise, a full budgetary and commercial analysis is done assessing sales projections and risk mitigation versus expenditure and a board meeting is convened to discuss the merits of each project. Finally, when a general consensus of opinion is reached by the company to move ahead with the financing and production of the production, funds are allocated and the Directors of Production and Finance will work together to ensure an appropriate cash flow forecast and production schedule is completed. A new company is then formed appropriate to the financing structure of the film, and funds are transferred to the new company’s bank account ready to secure a director, cast and other principle crew.

Digital Features
IndyMuse’s current focus lies in the cutting-edge arena of digital features. Low budget projects such as Pieces of April and Open Water are proving the commercial and artistic potential of digital video.

Digital video also allows a great scalability of marketing and distribution. After principal photography, only minimal expense will be required before the film is ready for screening by film festival producers.

Only after the film is accepted in a given festival will the expense of format transfer be incurred. Similarly, only after a film is sold for theatrical release will the video be transferred to 35 mm film.

Digital video also invites an artistic freedom that attracts name stars to low budget projects. Daring projects like Dogville and Full Frontal entice worldwide stars to work for a fraction of their usual salary.

IndyMuse will cultivate relationships with seek out the quality projects that best utilize this exciting new media.
